After a two week break, there are some developments in the 24 torture count. The lack of torture at the end of the season is not surpassing. In the last two seasons there has been almost not torture in the last 5 or 6 episodes of the season. 24 has tented to shift from a action-suspense genre to an A-Team blow everything up genre a seasons enter its final act. Anyways....Hour 19
Official Torture: n/a
Terrorist Torture: Attempt 1 / success 1 / accurate 1
Improvised Torture: n/a
So, in addition to the tick up on the terrorist-torture count, I once again have to amend the "Improvised" torture count. We learned last night that Tony did not really torture a former colleague off screen to get information about the attack on the White House. It was a cover story that he gave Jack. That man was still alive and had not been harmed. Instead of dropping the count, I feel the best thing to do at this point is put an Asterisk on the number. This will be the third revision this season, and it makes more since to mess with the charts. I am totally open to any imput people may have about this situation.
One note about next week. I miss next weeks episode because I will be Istanbul, Turkey at The International Conference on Conflict, Terrorism & Society giving a paper on torture in 24. Updates for episode 20 and 21 will happen sometime that following week. Since I am talking about this research, I would love to hear some throughs that you may have.
